We describe in the post entitled "The joy of "gentle jibes"" how we use playful techniques to convey our feelings to prevent them bottling up unnecessarily.

And one such jibe earlier this week was to the effect that we had not done anything different or unique for a while - see our post entitled ""Get Away from it All" to Stressbust™ For a Bit" for a summary of the importance of this to your SMI, a description of which can be found in our post entitled "Have an SMI™ (Stress Management Index™) to accompany your BMI".

So off we trotted to a beautiful local market town that contains a couple of nice department stores for a spot of what we have now termed between us "smellsation" - namely, the act of stimulating the senses positively through smells and aromas, in this case from perfumes and aftershaves!

We had never used the term "smellsation" before and invented this as a new word between ourselves on the day, not unlike we did previously and as described in our post entitled ""Fizzworthy" - a new entrant to our StressBusting™ vocabulary".

And while we touched upon the importance of smells to our home in our post entitled "10 Stressbusting™ Themes for Decorating to Innovate & Inspire", we have never before made it the subject of a day trip out!

However, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience; comparing the "bouquets" of the samples we each took and describing what connotations they brought about for us took us right out of the day to day into a sensory hinterland.

Although after much deliberation we didn't buy any of the scents we tried this time around, we will definitely go again and this is an excursion we would recommend to users as a great StressBuster™.

But a word of warning - make sure you eat before trying on the aftershaves and perfumes, as this can reduce both appetite and food taste for a while, and be careful with allergies!
