One of the 1st Western scholars to study Buddhism once explained that life is like a dance.

There is a start, an end, and a big bit in the middle.

But too many people spend their whole lives focusing on the end game, whether it be great wealth, a comfortable retirement, a fantastic reputation, to own your own house etc, etc.

What these preoccupations do, however, is blind people to the dance of life we are meant to be sharing experiences and enjoying along the way - the big bit in the middle!

To do this requires reflection and an unjudgemental gratefulness for what is and our place in the universe at a given time.

A dance can be a graceful performance that has a build up which tells a story then seamlessly weaves into an ending.

It is not a mad rush for the finishing line 🏃🏃‍♀️.

Sometimes life's dance is a gentle waltz, other times you're thrown a quick step, and it's important to be part of and move with the dance music.

But in the overtly materialistic world we inhabit, the dance of life is often treated merely as a means to the end game which, if and once achieved, carries a deep sense of regret at time lost and anticlimax.

So by all means strive, but please, please, please do not forget to make sure that "the dance of life" is being enjoyed by you throughout, for however long it lasts and whatever form it takes.

This will be not only stressbusting™ but liberating too.

Much love, LouLoU™&MikeyM™ 🕺💃☺💚💛 xxxx
