It is valuable to remember that mental dexterity is as important to wellness as physical fitness, as the 2 compliment one another to create the whole.

Effective and regular brain training can render us better equipped to deal with both life's trials and opportunities when they materialise.

And as we never know when they are going to arise, prep is key.

Put another way, we need to constantly fuel the mind for the journey ahead.

Meditation and even simple relaxation technique are a great way of clearing the mind of peripheral mental baggage that could otherwise inhibit this process - see, for example, our post entitled "Take a "virtual shower" to StressBust™"

Trying to control the amount of multi tasking we do is another - the mind likes to work in a logical, ordered manner rather than being constantly pulled from pillar to post.

Purposefully allowing our minds to rest can be a challenge but the benefits are considerable. This involves recognising the tell tale signs of mental burn out and acting on them.

Our posts entitled "Have an SMI™ (Stress Management Index™) to accompany your BMI" and "Know the shape of your personal fuel tank" may assist in this.

Methods of creating a conducive atmosphere in which to mentally and emotionally prosper are contained in our post entitled "10 Stressbusting™ Themes for Decorating to Innovate & Inspire".

And learning to switch off and relax at home is key - see our post entitled "Leave Your "Work Head" at Work to Stressbust™ at Home" for further tips and guidance.

At the end of the day, mental fitness in the modern world is equally as important as physical fitness, and a wellness orientated way of living should take this fully into account to facilitate optimum StressBusting™.
