Yesterday morning MikeyM™ woke up slightly worse for wear with the startings of a winter cold.
We had both had our hands full of late with the usual work run up to Xmas and Her Majesty the Baby picking up every infant bug imaginable.
A 5am start soon became 8am and we were already tiring.
Her Majesty had done her usual stint of a through the night pyjama party to then slip back into a slumber at 7am when it was way too late for us to successfully go back down ourselves 😴.
As we sat opposite one another at the kitchen table mulling what lack of options the day held in store for us in that lull that is the week before Xmas 💁♂️💁♀️, LouLoU™ suddenly announced that while she had no appetite for it, she thought she might go and have her nails done, as she had planned to do the day before but had been prevented from doing.
Without further ado and with limited fuss, she was ready in a flash 💥 and off she went, to return an hour later with a beautiful set of crafted Xmas talons 😃.
This set a new tone for our day.
Christmas 🎅🤶 was once again in the air and we had in one fluid motion altered the ambience of what could have been an otherwise dreary icy Saturday in December.
For the rest of the day, we laughed, joked, got out for a lovely walk made Xmas plans and dined like kings and queens.
The secret to this mood wind change was that we didn’t dwell on the decision too long.
Had we done so we could have easily concluded Xmas queues or this or that dictated against the trip and the day could consequently have took a different course.
In other words, its sometimes good to do something you don’t remotely feel like and see where it takes you, as you’ll never know what might have been or improved if you don’t take the opportunity to nail the moment from time to time.
So actively start to imagine and plan how your record of today is going to read after the event.......💭.
Take positive, conclusive steps to secure this and don’t be afraid to act at times on measured impulse, as it can be refreshing, liberating and rejuvenating.
