We all like feeling as if we can take on the world, and this is great, because such a positive, energetic mindset can set us off on great endeavours resulting in fabulous achievements that benefit ourselves and others 🤜🤛👏👍💪

But sometimes it is worth taking a moment to reflect on what is our weakness or 'achilles heel'', to ensure it doesn't end hijacking our efforts when we least expect it.

After all, Superman was considered invincible until his arch nemesis, Lex Luther, identified that even the superpowers of the so called 'Man of Steel' could be reduced by him being brought into contact with a mere fragment of a rock called kryptonite from Krypton, the planet of his birth 🤕.

And while everyone has the ability to be a superhero to somebody or group of people if they put their mind to it, equally, everyone may have their own equivalent to or version of kryptonite.

This may not be in the form of an aversion to planetary matter like Superman (relevant identified allergies excepted!), but perhaps, for example, it's a tendency to be overly optimistic and therefore feel disappointed when events do not transpire as hoped for 😲. Or maybe to indulge in a few drinks too many with resulting embarrassment 🤭. Or for others it might be that not talking openly about how they feel manifests itself in unaddressed pent up frustration misrepresenting their attitudes and behaviours 😡.

If we can identify and be aware of our own version of kryptonite, however, we can then explore and adopt techniques to either avoid or reduce it's impact and so stressbust™ ahead.

This is a valuable exercise that can be performed at a personal but also business or work level to help 'see around corners' and ensure that a worst or negative case scenario does not materialise.

Because while we cannot control all events taking place around us, we can learn to better manage and handle how we feel about and react to them!

And this, in its turn, enables us to predict and thus conserve our energy levels (the importance of which we explore in our post entitled "ENERGY: The Most Precious Stressbusting™ Commodity in Life") as well as keep our SMI down to acceptable levels when the time comes (see our post entitled "Have an SMI™ (Stress Management Index™) to accompany your BMI".

Much super & krypton free love,
