It is human nature to have good days and bad days. And you can't always predict in advance which you are going to have on any given day.

But regardless of how we feel, if we make the conscious effort to look after our appearance, we can enhance our sense of overall self respect and wellbeing.

Our appearance sends not only an outward message as to how we expect to be treated by others, but an inward statement to ourselves. A positive and uplifting appearance gives us a feeling of satisfaction and optimism which are excellent forms of StressBusting™. The opposite can be true when we take little care of our appearance, say because it seems too much like hard work to have a nice hot shower to relax the muscles then find an outfit that matches in the morning.

In this respect, the word "appearance" can actually be a bit misleading. Our "appearance" is defined as how we "appear" to others, not how we necessarily "feel". But we have found that how we dress and therefore "appear" can actually enhance how we feel in ourselves, and we have definitely seen this phenomenon in Her Majesty the Baby, a fact to which the picture of her strutting in her shades attests!

So if you wake up feeling down or tired, make the effort to dress to impress and "Walk the Walk", even if it's the last thing you feel like, as it could change the entire direction of your day!

This is a subject we further touch upon in our previous post entitled "Groom, Groom, Groom to StressBust™" if of interest.
