One great way for us of deflecting anxiety and stress is to plan for what we term “Us-A-Days” - that is, days we set aside for us to do with as we please together.

With Her Majesty the Baby here, this usually means us earmarking a nursery day to for example take a spa, go for a run into the country or even just chill at the house with a box set we have been looking forward to.

Whatever we elect to do with our “Us-A-Day” really doesn’t matter – its all about consciously electing to take time aside for ourselves (which can sometimes only be a few hours) and following through with the promise as a matter of respect to ourselves.

An “Us-A-Day” could of course easily convert to a “Me-A-Day” but never to a “You-A-Day”, as all our other days are mainly spent supporting others in one way or another.

They may appear selfish but quite the opposite we find they super charge us to give more time and positive energy to others for the rest of the week.

The old saying “charity starts at home” rings true in this regard – you can only respect, care for and even love others if you can do the same for yourself.

So there you go, your time is precious – one of the most precious thing you own - so make sure you spend some of it on yourself, however little.

And don’t feel an atom of guilt about it either before, during or afterwards, because you will undoubtedly be more use to those who need and rely on you most for giving yourself the regular gift of space to breathe, personally prosper & StressBust™
