We find that in any area of life it pays to be inquisitive.

No more so is this vital than in the arena of personal health.

We are big fans of Sherlock Holmes, the series “Elementary” starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu being one of our favourites of all time.

We therefore regularly find ourselves applying one of Holmes’ most famous phrases, namely that:

“When you eliminate the impossible, then what remains, no matter how improbable, is probably the truth”.

This doesn’t always bring us the to a conclusion we wished for, but it encourages a realistic conclusion unburdened by prejudice or personal preference.

And sometimes it’s better to establish then act on the truth of reality than base actions on a comfortable, but ultimately futile, fallacy.

Our previous post entitled “The Dangers of Denial to Stressbusting™” explores this subject in greater detail.

Take MikeyM™’s recent medical query to his GP described in our previous post entitled “Embrace Technology to Stressbust™”, for example.

Following examination of blood tests, the GP texted and indicated MikeyM™’s recent blood test results were “satisfactory” and that no further action was required.

To the uncurious, this would have been celebrated as a good outcome and left at that.

However, an examination of information readily available on the Internet informed us that “satisfactory” was a step down from “normal”.

This knowledge enabled us to take up the mantle and seek further clarification from the Surgery over a telephone appointment.

The doctor complimented us for our “Eagle Eyes”, commenting that he had never had any patient before pick up on this subtle medical distinction.

As it transpired (and the doctor adequately explained) a reading of “satisfactory” as opposed to “normal” could regularly be registered for a person of MikeyM™’s  age in the ordinary course, and could merely be caused by such a thing as innocuous as a winter virus.

So, there was nothing to worry about after all and indeed no follow up required.

But at least we arrived at this conclusion from a full understanding of all the facts and terminology.

Thus the message is don’t be afraid to be inquisitive.

In this case our findings didn’t make a huge difference, but one of these days, you never know, it could save a life!

Much Curiosity&Love,

LouLoU&MikeyM™ 🥰😍💫🧡💚💥
