Being happy reduces stress - this is a well know fact.
But in this hectic world we occupy it is challenging to create the time to do what we really enjoy.
Pressures on time are considerable and we often find weeks, months or in some cases even years flying by without having been able to have a proper focus on ourselves, having promised ourselves "us time" but never having taken time to ensure we get it.
As parents, for example, we look forward to school holidays and then they arrive, we look forward to the kids getting back to school, as so the vicious circle continues! 😄
But it is proven that the more energy we expend exclusively on activities we truly enjoy, the more successful we are in other areas of life that require our attention and responsibility.
Some lucky people have an occupation they enjoy. Others are not quite so fortunate in this respect, and therefore look to fulfil their personal enjoyment needs in their non work time or by way of hobby or life project.
Either way, it is imperative to have balance and validate our own personal desires in the process.
Doing this is so important to our physical and mental health, that it should be considered as a necessity, not an option to:-
