We found this in a local charity shop.
Now it's retail price is £3.99, which feels rather steep in spite of a very plush, fancy wrapper.
But this was offered on the counter at a sale price of £1.50, so we thought at that price it was worth giving it a try.
Chocolate has been reported as providing excellent mood enhancing qualities, but only in moderation.
This is because as well as a gazillion calories, it contains serotonin and phenylethlyamine, feelgood chemicals that can apparently create a sense of contentment not unlike being in love at only a fraction of the cost of getting married!
So we were never going to devour this chunky between us in one sitting at a whopping near 1,000 calories per bar; but are always on the look out for chocolate bars that give a lot of taste in only a few bites for a manageable calorie count, and it was in this vain that we approached the exercise.
The wrapping, while nice and colourful, doesn't really lend itself to gift purposes unless you know somebody called Tony.
And as there were only 377 "Tony"s born in the US in the whole of 2022 (in a population of over 338 million!) the brand is more than a little confusing!
But that aside, for our purposes this didn't matter, as it was always going to be about the taste.
And the taste was very good overall.
The chocolate was incredibly thick and rich, containing a smooth 'biscuity' texture that rested well on the palate and gave a satisfying slow melting taste on the tongue.
More importantly, a few chunks each and our chocolate craving had subsided, meaning we think we will get 4 shared sessions out of the bar, in turn rendering the price per bar more acceptable to us overall.
We would recommend readers to try this chocolate which was unlike anything we have tried before.
But perhaps enjoy it as a treat or one off rather than regularly, given the danger its richness may interrupt a healthy appetite for more StressBusting™ foods, some of which are described in our post entitled "HeadChefSantiago™ on the best foods for reducing stress".
